Medical Camp at Muzza High School, Kabembe
Introduction
On 19th April 2025, the Lions Club of Mukono Host successfully organized a free community medical camp at Muzza High School in Kabembe. The camp aimed to promote the health and well-being of both students and community members by providing free medical services, health education, and environmental awareness.
With a school population of over 1,500 students, the camp served more than 500 students, offering medical checkups, health screenings, and educational sessions. Several students were also referred to medical facilities for further treatment where necessary.
Key Services Offered:
- General Health Checkups
- Dental Sensitization and Screening (oral hygiene education and basic exams)
- Eye Screening and Awareness (vision checks and referrals)
- Health Talks (covering diabetes, hygiene, and disease prevention)
- Introduction to Lionism – encouraging youth involvement in volunteerism and community service
The camp also created an opportunity to recruit potential Leos and lay the groundwork for establishing a new Leo Club at Muzza High School, inspiring students to take up leadership roles in service.
In addition to the health services, Lions and students came together to plant 10 tree seedlings around the school as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental conservation.
This impactful initiative was fully funded by contributions from members of the Lions Club of Mukono Host. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the Lions who dedicated their resources, time, and energy to make this event a resounding success.
